An estimated $1.25 billion jackpot was up for grabs in the multistate Mega Millions lottery drawing on Tuesday night, one of the largest lottery jackpot in the lottery’s history. The Mega Millions lottery drawing, at 11 p.m. EDT (0300 GMT Wednesday), selected the winning numbers of 8, 24, 30, 45, 61, and Mega Millions Jackpot Powerball number 12.

If won, the Mega Millions drawing tonight amount could be the fourth-largest lottery jackpot in Mega Millions’ history.
A grand prize winner could choose to spread it in annual payments over 29 years, or take a lump-sum option of an estimated $550.2 million, as per Mega Millions lottery drawing.
No winners were immediately announced for one of the largest lottery jackpot.
This was the 30th drawing since the last Mega Millions winner hit the jackpot in April. The winner or winners must match the correct six double-digit numbers on a $2 ticket.

If there was a single winner on Tuesday, the lucky ticket holder can have the estimated jackpot paid out over 30 years, or receive an estimated $550.2 million lump sum payment which is one of the largest lottery jackpot.
The odds of winning are minuscule: A buyer of a single Mega Millions lottery ticket has about a 1-in-300 million chance of containing all the correct numbers.
The jackpot is among the highest Mega Millions prizes ever, topped only by a $1.537 billion jackpot that a single ticket holder in South Carolina won in 2018.
But Tuesday’s purse is only about half the size of a $2.04 billion for Mega Millions Jackpot Powerball won by a single-ticket holder in California in November 2022. That ranks as the largest lottery prize total in U.S. history.
The jackpot soared past $1 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night. Tuesday’s drawing will be the 30th since the jackpot was last won in New York on April 18, according to Mega Millions.

Although no one scored the jackpot Friday, the drawing still yielded big winners. One ticket sold in Pennsylvania won $5 million by matching the first five numbers and activating the optional Megaplier, which is available in most states with an extra $1 purchase.
Another four California state lottery tickets sold in Arizona, California, New York and Pennsylvania matched the first five numbers to win $1 million.
